Menopause set my mom on a path she never recovered from.
Her body changed, and with it came weight she couldn’t lose, exhaustion she couldn’t shake, blood sugar and blood pressure that kept climbing. She did everything her doctors told her. Took the meds. Followed the advice. But no one ever asked why her body was changing in the first place.
They treated each new diagnosis as if it appeared out of nowhere. They never saw the bigger picture.
And in her late 60s, she was gone.
At the same time, I felt my own body shifting in the same way. The same struggles. The same unanswered questions. The same pill for every ill—without ever addressing what was behind it all.
